Spring In Our Midst 2010, 30 May 2010

The Jumping Jewels where one of two guest performers at this Tampines Arts Troupe dance concert. This gave the dance performers time to change their extensive costumes. We had to constantly adapt our preparation as 5 of 10 Jewels performing where down with fever on the day of performance. As we needed at least 8 skippers for the prepared choreography, Ariel and Amy had to perform after visiting the doctor and Claire who came for Sunday practice was roped in.

Fortunately the concert was next door at the Tampines Cultural Centre at Tampines East CC, so our holding area was at our studio. This gave us time to get Claire ready. The show must go on and so we did with 8 Jewels.

Cultural dance performancers usually get a polite applause at the end of their performances. For our performance we got 3 sets of applause, 2 during the performance. I guess the audience liked our performance.

There is a chalet outing organized by the dance troupe on 6th June to mingle and relax which will be another day out for the Jewels. This has been a great learning experience working with cultural dance people and I am sure we will learn more at the chalet.
